This colorway of Three Irish Girls Yarn is named “Latackaq“, pronounced La-Tosh-Tuck, after the Alutiiq word for Swallow bird. It was designed for The Net Loft, inspired by a local watercolor.
I couldn’t pass up this particular skein, the colors were just so vivid.
So I tried a new pattern that called for a bulky yarn and turned the swallow bird into a chickadee cowl, a really simple beginner project that knits up very quickly. If anyone is inspired, it’s a free pattern from Kirsten Kapur and all the details can be found here : http://ravel.me/ShellyDK/cc
